Plaza Río Shopping Center

Plaza Río 2 is one of the shopping centers with the highest number of visitors since its opening in October 2017. Located in an unbeatable setting, it has an area of 28,000 square meters, of which 40,000 are for commercial use.

The shopping center is well known among the people of Madrid for its terrace, called El Mirador de Plaza Río 2, which is located in front of the Manzanares riverbank and the Matadero Cultural Center. The 3,000-square-meter space is the largest restaurant terrace in the capital.

The four floors that make up Plaza Río 2 house the main fashion stores and various restaurants to make visitors' experience unique. In addition, the building stands out for its energy efficiency because its main lighting system is natural light, a sustainable model that works thanks to the incorporation of lamps that change the intensity depending on the lighting needs.

The investment of the LGSIE group, the Spanish subsidiary of the European group La Société Générale Inmobilière, has been a key driver for the construction of the shopping center, which joined the other seven that have been built in the city: Madrid 2 La Vaguada, Plaza Loranca 2, Gran Vía 2, Plaza Norte 2, Gran Plaza 2, La Villa 2 and Plaza Mar 2.

Its avant-garde design, which stands out for its originality and openness, was developed by Chapman Taylor Architects.

The Plaza Rio 2 Shopping Center houses a total of 160 stores and 30 restaurants, positively impacting local employment and creating more than 1,800 jobs.
