Few locations in Madrid condense as much health and urban history as the Hospital del Aire, in Arturo Soria. Inaugurated in the seventies, its medical and teaching activity marked generations of professionals, making it an icon of the neighborhood and an essential facility for the city.

After its closure and demolition in the early 2000s, the site remained silent for more than a decade. Its outbuildings - such as the nursing school or the Aerospace Medicine Instruction Center - were abandoned, symbolizing a history that seemed to have come to an end.

Today, that chapter is being rewritten with a project that will return the health vocation to the site, but with a renewed and forward-looking concept. The site will be the site of the new private hospital of the Quirón Groups new private hospital, which aims to become a high-level medical center specializing in advanced therapies, personalized treatments and comprehensive wellness programs.

A different hospital: innovation and added value

The new complex will not just be an ordinary private hospital. The approach includes the creation of a space oriented to cutting-edge medicine and high value-added services. Among the areas envisaged are:

  • Exclusive therapies in facilities designed to ensure maximum patient comfort.

  • Specialized treatments, with a focus on areas of high complexity and personalized medicine.

  • Comprehensive wellness programs, where physical health is complemented by prevention, nutrition and emotional care.

  • Medical research and innovation, which will strengthen the center's capacity to attract talent and become an international reference.

In this way, the new hospital not only recovers the healthcare use of the plot, but also elevates it to a model aligned with global trends: personalized medicine, premium services and spaces that combine technology, comfort and healthcare excellence.

‍Awork of great magnitude

The execution of the project is in the hands of Puentes Infraestructurasa construction company specializing in complex building and civil engineering projects, with whom we have already begun work on site. Its experience in hospitals and health centers guarantees the technical soundness of a construction that must meet the highest standards of quality, safety and sustainability.

This project will represent a significant investment in the city, with thousands of square meters dedicated to healthcare, surgical, hospitalization and research areas. The design also contemplates green spaces and recreational areas, seeking to create a healthy environment that respects the urban surroundings of Arturo Soria.

A new milestone for private healthcare in Madrid

The hospital is scheduled to open in the second half of the decade, and its commissioning will reinforce Madrid' s role as a reference capital in European private healthcare. For the city, it means recovering a historic site, giving it a new life that combines memory and modernity.
