Impais at the new ONCE headquarters: a project for inclusion and accessibility
We are pleased to announce our participation in the construction of the new Institutional Headquarters of the ONCE Social Group in Madrid, an emblematic project that reinforces our commitment to inclusion and accessibility. Having collaborated in previous phases since its inception in 2023, we are now embarking on the execution of the largest unit of the project, consolidating our dedication and experience in this ambitious challenge.
An enclave with history
The new headquarters is located on the grounds of the former Antonio Vicente Mosquete School, a historic site for the organization, located in the northern part of Madrid. This space housed the education of numerous generations of blind children at the end of the last century, and is now being transformed to become the world's largest center dedicated to promoting the rights of people with disabilities.
An open and integrative architectural design
The architectural design of the complex is light, open and modern, with buildings interconnected by walkways and separated by plazas and open courtyards, creating a visually attractive and functional environment. In addition, protected elements such as the historic Palacete Jardín Duque de Pastrana, which dates back to 1848 and was declared a national Historic-Artistic Monument in 1979, will be respected and enhanced, as well as a tower at the confluence of Comandante Franco and Tahona streets, and an original enclosure with a masonry fence, which will have a specific restoration plan.
The new space will house offices of the ONCE General Council, the ONCE Directorate General and the ONCE Foundation, as well as other areas and professionals from Ilunion, Inserta Empleo, the Servimedia news agency and the Tiflológico Museum, which will include a specific area of immersive experiences for citizens, especially aimed at the educational community.
Sustainable construction and universal accessibility
Construction is being carried out under strict criteria of universal accessibility, environmental sustainability and energy efficiency, fundamental aspects for creating an inclusive and environmentally friendly environment. The strategic location of the headquarters, next to a subway stop, several bus lines and close to the Chamartín railway junction, offers multiple communication options, which will be worked on to ensure maximum accessibility.
We are proud to be part of this project that not only represents an architectural milestone, but also a significant step forward in promoting inclusion and support for people with disabilities.
Our collaboration in the construction of the new ONCE headquarters reaffirms our commitment to excellence and social responsibility, values that guide us in each of our projects.
