At Impernor Asbitra we know that in order to achieve the highest quality standards it is necessary to have the best working conditions and spaces. Thus, protecting our workers and other people who are linked to our activity is of the utmost importance for us in each project. Thanks to this corporate philosophy that has accompanied us since our beginnings, today we can announce that we are pioneers in our sector in having cardioprotected spaces.

Two pieces of equipment that will help us save lives

Our business ethic is not only in line with the current needs of the sector, but also ensures safety in our environment. For this reason, we have acquired two AED (Automated External Defibrillator) defibrillators to be able to respond to any risk situation that may arise in our areas of operation, one of which has been installed in our offices. With this action, we are able to protect our employees as well as our customers, suppliers and other collaborators who visit our work areas.

‍TheZOLL AED PLUS model is the only one that is suitable for all types of cardiac arrest . As a distinctive feature, this device incorporates a sensor that can measure in real time the depth of the compressions being performed by the rescuer to ensure that the compressions are effective reaching 5-6 cm depth, as marked by the ILCOR 2015 international resuscitation guidelines. In addition, we wanted to go a step further and offer primary assistance in large-scale works through a mobile team. Due to the distance of the nearest health services to these sites, it is of vital importance for us to be able to assist our workers and any other professionals working on site in the event of an emergency. Medical teams can take, in some cases, up to hours to arrive.

With our new Samaritan Pad defibrillator (a model that analyzes the patient's heart and decides whether it should be defibrillated or not, which means that any non-specialist can use it), we will be able to minimize possible damage and guarantee first aid until the patient arrives. In this way, we reinforce our corporate social responsibility by betting on a differential and pioneering value in the sector, positioning ourselves as one of the best companies also in terms of occupational safety.

We care about you

Did you know that sudden death accounts for half of all cardiovascular deaths and 25% of all deaths in adults? In figures, according to the latest report of the National Institute of Statistics, 35,000 people die every year in Spain due to sudden cardiac arrest and, approximately, half of them did not have any recognized heart disease. For this reason, at Impernor Asbitra we have joined Proyecto Salvavidas, the main cardioprotection company in Spain with more than 13,000 defibrillators installed and trusted by other prestigious entities such as La Sexta or Atlético de Madrid. With this new ally, we have organized a workshop on cardiopulmonary resuscitation and use of the defibrillator to promote CPR training and early defibrillation, two actions that increase the chances of survival after collapse by between 6% and 74%.

Recently, all our staff has received the BASIC LIFE SUPPORT AND DEFIBRILLATOR HANDLING COURSE as indicated by the official regulations in Decree 78/2017 of September 12 by which the use of external defibrillators outside the health field is regulated and their registration is created in the CC.AA of Madrid. In this course we have been taught resuscitation techniques in case of sudden death and we were able to solve some doubts about how to act in case of seizure, choking and choking.

Old prisons that were but are no longer

Penitentiary centers have been innovative buildings, symbols of demands or temporary lodgings for illustrious prisoners. Today, many of them no longer exist and, if they do, they have greatly changed their function. We delve into the history of four of them: La Modelo in Barcelona, La Modelo in Madrid, Carabanchel and the Women's Prison in Ventas.
