In recent years, we have participated in the construction and refurbishment of up to 25 hospitals throughout Spain, with the hospital division being one of the most important for us.Projects as exciting and relevant as the Isabel Zendal Hospital in Madrid, the new Surgical Center of Gregorio Marañón, the new Hospitalization Building of 12 de Octubre, the University Clinic of Salamanca, the new Hospital of Cuenca or the recently inaugurated HM Rivas Vaciamadrid.
Work on the new hospital is being carried out according to the architectural project designed by the Berna10 studio, which envisages a total built surface area of more than 49,000 square meters, to which must be added another 28,000 square meters for parking and landscaped areas, tripling the surface area of the current building. The architectural proposal includes a parking lot on the semi-basement floor, while the first floor will house the Emergency Room, Diagnostic Imaging, Admissions and Clinical Documentation, Pharmacy, Day Hospital, Rehabilitation, Mental Health, kitchen, extractions and cafeterias, among others. With respect to the current hospital, the new facilities will increase the number of areas and services. Thus, the Consultation Area, which currently has 30 rooms, will increase to 70, including 14 for Mental Health. Among the many extensions in rooms, capacity, posts or operating rooms, there is also the expansion of its services portfolio with the incorporation of the specialty of Medical Oncology. A heliport will crown the building to cover the most pressing emergencies.
The work on the new Don Benito-Villanueva hospital is divided into two modules. The first phase is currently focused on the outpatient and ambulatory care building (scheduled to open at the end of this year), while the second phase will be the hospitalization area. The first phase will have 58 outpatient consultations and 30 examination rooms - doubling the current hospital's consultation capacity - eight extraction rooms, as well as a day hospital for oncohematology patients, geriatric patients and surgical patients.
With these two examples, the health of the areas and the professionals who work in them are dignified.
